Suit for Divorce Is Instituted
A divorce suit and a separate maintenance case were filed in the district court clerk’s office Friday. Albert I. Smith sues Henriette L. Smith for mental cruelty, the pair having wed in San Diego on November 29, 1942, with one child whose custody would go to the defendant. Colleen Winn accuses George C. Winn of mental cruelty and seeks a separate maintenance decree plus $75 monthly custody support. they married in February 27, 1945, in the area.

Wrist Watch Stolen From Camp Owner Near Dewey Boulevard
A 17 jewel Hamilton wrist watch valued at 150 dollars was reported stolen Friday from Cook's Cabin camp at 1405 Dewey Boulevard. Owner Harry E. Harding said he left the watch in a washroom while showering. he noted he had driven 230000 miles without accident between 1932 and 1947. Police traced a 1936 Ford stolen from a Meaderville parking spot to a wreck near the Pittsmont property in East Butte. Richard Mecredy, the owner, reported he and family were dining after Butte high school commencement when the theft occurred Thursday night. The car overturned, five teenagers were seen fleeing, no injuries were reported, and damages were put at about $300.

Fire Destroys House Near Three Mile
Fire early Friday destroyed a small frame house on Harrison Avenue near the Three Mile. Fire Chief John O'Donnell said it was the second reported blaze at the unoccupied dwelling within about nine hours. Cause not discovered as water shortage hindered the response.
