Pope John laid to rest in St Peter's grottoes
The body of Pope John XXIII was interred in the Vatican grottoes beneath St. Peter's Basilica after more than a million mourners filed past his bier. The 81 year old pontiff died Monday and will rest near Pope Pius XI until the Lateran basilica restoration is finished.

Retired Anaconda Co. investigator Con J. Kelly dies at 73
Con J. Kelly, 73, a retired legal investigator for Anaconda Co., died Thursday in a local hospital. Born August 16, 1889 in Calumet Michigan, he moved to Butte in 1910 and later joined the Anaconda claim department in 1916. He was admitted to the Montana bar in 1921 and served in legal investigation until 1958. He was active in sports and veterans groups and leaves a widow Catherine and children including Rev. Con J. Kelly and John A. Kelly with several grandchildren.
