Tragic events claim six lives near Fresno as a crowded interurban collision ends in fatalities. In Floral Park Butte lights blaze on 200 evergreens turning yards into jeweled displays for a community Christmas event with carols and bonfires drawing thousands.
A Intersta te Commerce Commission decision to have five eastern trunk lines elevates Wabash to parity with New York Central Pennsylvania Baltimore Ohio and Chesapeake and Ohio. The plan joins Wabash with Lehigh Valley Wheeling and Lake Erie Pittsburgh and West Virginia Western Maryland and many small railroads under the New Wabash banner. William H Williams 55 longtime Wabash chairman emerges as a leading figure in the rail industry with roles across Delaware and Hudson Missouri Pacific and other firms.
In Tabarovsk two peace delegates sign a protocol to end Russia Manchuria hostilities. Tsai Yun Shen for Manchuria and Simonovsky for the Soviet foreign office agree on restoring joint administration of the railway, withdrawing Soviet arms, releasing civilians and military prisoners, and reopening consulates. Formal Moscow talks set for Jan 25 to resolve remaining questions.
In Mexico City police say fifty detainees are charged with conspiring in two plots to murder former President Plutarco Elias Calles. A third group of twenty, held for transfer to Tres Islas Marias, are followers of Jose Vasconcelos.
Helen Wills is set to marry Frederick S. Moody Jr. tomorrow at St Clement's chapel Berkeley California. The ceremony will read the new Episcopalian vows with no obe y or endowment promises, conducted by Rev Lindley H Miller.

In New York a Bell Laboratories team flew 3000 feet over Manhattan in a tri motor plane to contact the liner Leviathan via radio and wire, sharing news with Commodore Cunningham and ship passengers. The exchange lasted about thirty minutes as the craft moved at 1500 feet.
Charles Byers, 45, awoke to flames in his Los Angeles hotel room after a lighted cigarette fell in his bed. He leaped through a third story window, sustaining a probable skull fracture and a broken leg with only a fair chance of recovery, according to police surgeons. He offered no clear explanation and suffered no burns.
Butte postal workers run two shifts day and night to catch up with heavy Christmas business. Postmaster Richard Brimacombe announced that over 70 000 first class pieces were handled Sunday along with thousands of pounds of parcel post and more than 400 special delivery items. Superintendent Albert McKinney noted Saturday’s rush of 86 000 first class pieces and many parcel post packages as among the greatest in local post office history.

In Oporto Portugal on December 22 a sailor swam through rough seas to a line to the sinking trawler Santa Maria 300 feet off Leixoes shore. He saved 12 men aboard as the vessel ran onto rocks and sank rapidly.
On a state highway south of Fresno a light touring car carrying eight motorists collided with a Corcoran to Fresno interurban car. Six died, including Tomaso Ramirez and Antonio Tenorio. an unidentified woman and three children also among the dead. Two children survived with injuries.

The Butte Auxiliary for the Rehabilitation of Crippled Children hosts its annual Christmas tree event in the Chamber of Commerce rooms this afternoon from 4 to 6. Seventy eight Butte youngsters will be guests. a program of vocal and instrumental music, recitations and skits will entertain, with each child receiving gifts they had written Santa for.
