The League of Nations plans to denounce the Soviet Union as aggressor in the Russo Finnish conflict and to organize aid for Finland after Moscow refuses mediation. A 13 member Finnish war committee will report, then assembly debates possible actions as deadline passes.
The committee refers to Curt’s letter from last week which declared the body’s convening an insult and prompts a formal reply that deepens the political clash within the league.
Finnish troops and planes repulsed a large Soviet offensive in Karelia near Tolvajarvi, claiming three enemy battalions wiped out and hundreds fallen. A Finn report also said the 2,217 ton German freighter Bollheim was sunk by a submarine in the Gulf of Bothnia with 29 survivors.
Senator Burton Wheeler told the Northwest division council of the United States Chamber of Commerce that the farmer's financial woe is an industry sales problem and can be solved only by business. He urged cooperation among business, government and labor leaders from Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
Berlin dispatch reports the German liner Bremen worth 20 million dollars evaded the British fleet again and reached a German port. The voyage, lasting three and a half months, ends with the vessel writing home in its log.
Paul Hudtloff a longtime Butte businessman Republican party leader and Butte Chamber of Commerce president died suddenly yesterday at noon while preparing to leave his home at 1415 West Porphyry street for his office. He had been in poor health for years and the death is believed to be a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at White's funeral chapel with Rev H W Moehring of St Mark's Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah cemetery near his brother Rev Martin Hudtloff. He was active with the Butte Y M C A as vice president and director. Born in Berlin Wisconsin his father was a German Lutheran minister in Wausau. His oldest brother Rev Martin Hudtloff had become pastor at St Mark.
Montana forecasts show fair skies on Wednesday and Thursday with increasing warmth on Wednesday, helping outdoor plans. No precipitation is expected and temperatures rise gradually across the state presenting a mild late spring feel.

Charles A Rasmussen 63, who served as federal internal revenue collector for Montana from 1922 to 1934 and again since 1935 as probation and parole officer, died at a local hospital after a brief kidney illness. He was appointed by President Harding and began the Montana post January 16, 1922.
Red and white lights shaped as a Christmas evergreen blazed from the top of a 175 foot tower at the Immaculate Conception church. Butte opens an auxiliary postal station at 106 East Park Street this Friday to relieve congestion during the Christmas mailing rush. The emergency station joins the main post office on North Main Street and Station A at West Park Street, operating for 10 days before Christmas. Officials expect a surge in outgoing mail and urge residents to mail now to ensure on time deliveries.
