Montana Seeks Relief Funds For 1934

Helena December 5 Montana Relief Director T C Spaulding told state legislators that at least 1 500 000 is needed from state funds and 875 000 from counties for 1934 relief. Federal aid would total 791 666, bringing total to 3 165 666, just under last year’s expenditures by 1 500 000. future public works demand uncertain.

Lindberghs Start Nonstop South Atlantic Flight

Anne Lindbergh and her husband Charles A. Lindbergh launched from Bathurst in a powerful low-wing monoplane at 2 a.m. G M T for a projected non stop 1870 mile flight to Brazil lasting about 14 hours. They hoped favorable winds would aid the crossing.

Fifty applications for relief from the Home Owners' Loan Corporation were approved and forwarded from the Butte office to state headquarters for final action.
