Chatham Man Died While on Chain Gang Transport
T F Headen a white man from Chatham county serving two years on the Union county chain gang for assault with a deadly weapon died last Tuesday night. A relative was with him at death. Governor Kitchin urged hospital transfer but Headen died of rupture. Headen, a farmer with property, was 64 and a bachelor.
