A Mobile operation under federal prohibition officers halted a large liquor seizure. Four to five men opened casts and drained bottles from imported shipments estimated around $30,000. The alcohol ranged from French vintages to Central American rum, emptied into a funnel and dispersed as bystanders watched.
New 21 foot over all glass boats of the fish class will be launched today at 6 o clock at Altice Ways Water Street. Miss Dorothy Rampin will accompany by Miss Katherine Twerp as maid of honor to pilot the Boat Pilot Fish. Miss Burgett christens Bell 3 with Eulalie Wheyland as godmother. Three Madelen sisters from Memphis planned a triple wedding tour but police raided the home during preparations. The brides and three grooms were taken to the police station after neighbors complained of racket. The ceremony proceeded and the sisters married Lee Murphy Joseph Caron and John Robertson, Mississippi farmers.
Florence Alabama June 10 due to illness of juror Robert L Goode the murder trial of F Whit Seay in the death of his bride May 15 was recessed until 1 30 pm Hundreds of people crowded the courthouse as witnesses for the prosecution were expected to testify Seay sat with family amid attendance from Wichita Falls Texas and Hot Springs Arkansas Prosecutors described the testimony indicating Mrs Seay was choked before her head and body were mutilated with a stone and an arson attempt followed.
In Hot Springs Arkansas on June 10 locals gathered to discuss the defense of F Seay on trial in Florence Alabama. Eight years earlier Seay was sent to the Little Rock state insane asylum after troubling actions. Doctor J P Randolph then coroner opposed release citing danger and potential risk to family. Seay was later released, and during the draft he was rejected as unfit due to mental condition.
Ralph Talmer was arrested at his mother's home in Hamilton Alabama on a charge of complicity in the Marion Mobile Banking Company robbery. Ross Talmer, a relative, reportedly took money after the robbery and was later surrounded by a posse four miles from Hamilton. The hold up targeted Miss Mae Dunn, assistant cashier, and the band escaped with 2097 dollars in currency and silver.
Dr J B Gambrell retired president of the Baptist convention died at his daughter's Dallas home at age 79 after an illness since February. A noted southern educator he taught at several southern Baptist theological schools and served as editor of the Baptist Standard in Dallas. He is survived by two sons and three daughters.

Athens dispatch reports the mail packet Bouboulina sunk in the Aegean by a mine. She carried 240 passengers and 25 crew. The former Coronilla, built in 1878 at Newcastle, measured 268 feet long with a beam of 82 feet and a registered tonnage of 1 31.
Paul Laguidice, condemned for stabbing Mrs. Sophia Fichera in Rochester, slept through his reprieve three hours before execution last night. He became insane, refused food, and wore a straight jacket as alienists prepared a fresh review of his case. The killer alleged the act was urged by her husband, already serving life in Auburn.
Two bandits who held up the state bank at Preble Indiana near Fort Wayne were captured two miles from the town by Fort Wayne police. They named Russell Barroche, 25, and Donald McDaniels, 23, and exonerated a taxi driver Eugene Cole who drove them to Preble. They failed to loot the bank. the crowd at the bank scene forced them to flee.
Montgomery June 10 The Alabama Public Service Commission ordered the Southeastern Express Company and the American Railway Express Company to maintain through rates and the most direct routes. The American Railway Express must make Southeastern Express a party to all schedules and tariffs and suspend restrictive provisions in an improvised supplement filed with the commission.
London June 10 The conference of coal miners delegates decided a ballot should be taken in all coal fields on mine owners proposals for a settlement of the strike. The long running coal mine strike has tied up virtually the entire industry since April 1.
In Belfast Ireland a police sergeant and two constables were shot this afternoon and gravely wounded. The attack is linked by unionist quarters to an attempt by Sinn Fein to disrupt the opening in state of the Upper Ulster parliament on June 32.
London tune reports two Siberian naval bases offered to the United States in perpetuity in exchange for full commercial relations with Soviet Russia. Washington financier Vanderlip says the Moscow government has agreed, with Senator Lodge already holding the agreement. Bases at Avatcha Bay and near Vladivostok are named, plus an airplane base plan.

Turkish commander Izzet Pasha says Turkish troops about 100000 with 60000 effective, while Greeks reinforced by British air support tanks and gas shells total 120000 with 60000 effective. Greek morale, previously low due to internal quarrels, has improved with English assistance.
Mexico City June 10 P Elias Calles secretary of the interior returned from a nationwide trip and voiced optimism over U S Mexico recognition tensions with President Obregon. He said he is absolutely sure Obregon will resolve the conflict without discrediting himself or the nation and that he does not consider the situation grave. The full cabinet remains confident and undisturbed by the dispute.
In London on June 10 Rear Admiral Sims responds to Secretary Denby by saying portions of his London speech were garbled. He asserts he never stated certain claims he did in the United States and in his book, according to official word.

Kansas City dispatch reports orders for unconditional release of 19 I. W. W. prisoners, largely from Kansas, now serving terms in Leavenworth and other penitentiaries. The action, announced today by a federal official, follows unspecified directing authorities.
