Saloonkeeper Schlorff Arrested For Violating Liquor Law

G A Schlorff of 8 St Francis Street was arrested under section 38 for opening a saloon before 6 am violating the 11 pm to 6 am closing rule. Patrolman Rayford was suspended for being in the saloon at 4 am. Schlorff surrendered and posted bond. The Mobile excise commission will investigate the case as law requires.

Canvass For The Medical School At Alabama

Nearly all ten fund teams for the University of Alabama School of Medicine began canvassing early today aiming to boost Friday and Saturday totals. The two day canvass reported around 5000 dollars despite bad weather, with General Chairman Mehomeh hoping businessmen will donate more today. The drive is likely to continue tomorrow.
