Speed way plans to bar horses as it grows into an industrial center tied to the motor car trade. The town will be motor driven with fire apparatus patrol wagons and streets named for figures in the motor world. No horses or non motor factories will be admitted.
The funeral for Mrs. Philomena M. Smith was held from 310 North Conception Street at 4 30 PM Saturday, with Rev Dr Richards of Trinity Church officiating. A large group of friends attended and burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery, the tomb covered with flowers. Pallbearers included A M Bright H A Stanton Thomas St John F J Owen S S Shawhan and George D Williams.
Garnville B Outerbridge of 248 Michigan Avenue died after a brief illness due to cerebral congestion. He was taken to Chicago with family for burial in Rose Hill cemetery. Emanuel Tapia, longtime sewer chief under three Toledo administrations, died at 1:20 PM Saturday at city hospital from brain congestion and paralysis after about two weeks illness. He was 57 and a Mobile native, survived by three sons, a daughter, two sisters, and other relatives.

Mrs Mary C Cope a Fairhope Ala resident died Friday afternoon in Mobile at the Southern Infirmary after a brief illness. She was born in Zanesville Ohio and survived by relatives in Fairhope and elsewhere. The Roche Burke Undertaking Company took charge and will send the body to Fairhope for burial.
The funeral for C. W. Spain was held Saturday at 10 am from Roche & Burke undertaking parlors with Rev. W. Roberts of Broad Street Methodist Church officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery with many flowers. Pallbearers included J. F. Patterson, H. M. Stott, Mobile Light & Railroad Employes' Benevolent Association members, H. G. Branden, H. Ledebur, A. D. Holcombe, and J. C. McKinnon.
Funeral notices for William J. Daly and Mary A Spire Miatovich detail services at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Magnolia Cemetery. Daly’s service starts Sunday at 3:00 p.m. from his niece’s residence on Monterey Street. Miatovich’s funeral is listed for Monday morning with Mass at 8:00 a.m. and interment at Magnolia.
