Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce join to send scout cars from Miami through Florida Georgia and Baldwin County Alabama to evaluate highway routes for the Old Spanish Trail. The convention is scheduled for December 10 and 11.
A public meeting formed the Old Spanish Trail navigation group spanning Florida Georgia Alabama Mississippi and Louisiana with Peter Pillans named president and Sint A Le Blanc secretary. Executives plan early financing planning and publicity for the cross state road project with a press agent to be engaged and Governor Henderson to seek endorsement.
The Mobile city commission adjourned session amended the meat peddling ordinance to allow fresh meats within 1600 feet of the Southern Market and 1500 feet of the Central Market. A petition from Prichard residents asking repeal was sent to the city attorney.
Willie Harris of East Lake Alabama Robert Mills and Joseph Mills of Bessie Iowa and Edward Bruce of Birmingham Alabama were arrested with a Ford car suspected of being offered for less than 100 dollars by detectives Noah Harris and Tom Beltz near Government Street. Residents alerted police and the suspects remained silent. A separate note mentions an imminent YMCA board meeting and a special gathering led by Patton.

Dr. J. C. Helper, struck by anthrax a month ago, is pronounced cured by his attending physician. His wife aided with antiseptic wound care at fifteen minute intervals. Helper believes the illness came from a mosquito bite.
In Marble Falls, Texas two men robbed the First National Bank injuring bookkeeper Robert Heinetz who was likely fatally wounded. They forced another employee to open the vault and fled with about $2000 in bank funds, unmasked.
Labor troubles yesterday forced the Judson Mills, a major cotton manufacturer near Greenville, to shut down. About 600 operatives are affected, with fear of further unrest in thirteen nearby mills.
Federal agents pursued the New York munitions plot case tied to Lieu tenant Robert Fay and others. Max Breitung fled Chicago and later surrendered in custody with $25,000 bail as investigations expand. Paul Lieb testified about purchases of potassium chlorate and tri nitro toluene connected to Fay and Breitung.
Fairhope exhibits at the Gulf Coast fair feature the first olive tree in the region and a Chinese oil nut juice used for lacquer. The lower floor features merchant displays from Mobile showing kitchen aids, bake shop items, furnishings, and appliances from Smith's Bakery, Partridge Hardware, Smith Piano, Price Hardware, Moore Belting, Southern Tile, and Thomas Wagner & Co. The displays highlight a shift from laborious domestic tasks to quicker, economical home management.
Reports from Berlin indicate a junction forming between Austro German forces and Bulgarian allies east of Brza Palanka in Serbia. Greek frontier fighting and Serbian resistance are described as increasingly desperate as Allied aid is urged from London.
