Mobile readies for the fifth annual Southern Commercial Congress and Canal Celebration as President Wilson’s visit and arriving delegates loom. City officials report flawless preparations, hotels filling, and a gala three-day program with nationwide business leaders, flags, and civic pride.
The Martha Sawyer Gielow hall at Downing Industrial School in Brewton Ala was dedicated with a masons ceremony led by Hon Lawrence Lee. Mrs Martha Sawyer Gielow spoke on industrial education and urged focus on developing human resources, noting $30 000 in contributions. A campus dinner followed.
