The Bisso Towboat Company salvaged the vessel at that time.
Albert French was arrested Friday night by Detectives Lott and Berge on assault and battery charges. The complainant names Si F. French as the other party. The case opened in recorder's court and was continued until November 6.

The French liner Doukkala repelled an attack by a submarine after a 45 minute fight at about six thousand yards. The submarine reportedly fired seven shells. Doukkala, 4,368 tons gross, was built in 1900 in Rotterdam and owned by the Moroteo and Armenian Navigation Company of Marseilles.

Charles Raines and Gussie Roh of this city filed suit in the law and equity court Saturday against Kelly Bros of Whistler for 1000 dollars each. They allege they were run down by a motor vehicle on September 12 on the Conception street road while riding a motorcycle. The car, owned by the ee e, was driven by A W Crabtree who is described as reckless. The case is pending in Corder's court.
