Reports from Thomasville and Mobile describe a devastating tornado that struck Lower Peach Tree last Friday morning. Observers recount mangled corpses, naked survivors, and cattle and poultry wandering among wreckage, with two grocery stores opening as free dispensaries while Fort Oglethorpe troops aid the injured.

A compiled inventory lists residences of L. D. Bryant J. C. Clarke Dr. Ed King J. M. Baker Sam Irty J. M. Kirk Peter Milledge and others along with stores owned by G. E. Williamson and S. P. Stabler. It notes vacant stores of W. R. Wilson and W. J. Adams and a saw mill and gin belonging to L. E. Bryant and W. S. Irby plus a river warehouse and twenty five negro cabins with all barns and outhouses of the mentioned buildings.
Messrs E R Morrisette Jr and Mayer W Aldridge sent from Mobile for full disaster details at Lower Peach Tree. They report a wide 500 yard storm path with shattered trees and stripped stumps. Eighteen white and ten black residents were killed. twelve whites and thirty two blacks injured. many homes damaged or destroyed.
A tornado swept southern Terre Haute and Vigo county killing at least sixteen and likely rising to fifty while injuring dozens. The Root Glass Factory and Gartland Foundry were destroyed, 200 homes leveled, and Prairieton largely razed as improvised hospitals set up in churches and schools.
In Montgomery on March 24 the state convict department examined all transactions between Henderson Lumber Company and Henderson Turpentine Company from April 1 to October 1 1911.
