Low pressure center near St Lawrence causes strong winds nationwide
A low barometer area now near the mouth of the St Lawrence river drives high winds along the lower Great Lakes and north Atlantic coast. Buffalo reports 76 mph, with cold, clearing weather east of the Rockies as a high crest moves over the Ohio Valley. Temperatures fall below zero in the northern Rockies and freeze as far south as northern Texas. A Pacific spread brings scattered precipitation while a high pressure system promises fair, cooler weather tonight in Mobile and warmer conditions Sunday.
