Washington dispatch reports rapid mobilization of national guardsmen across many states. About 16 000 to leave Monday and 15 000 Tuesday with additional units gathering. Meade and General Wood announce expedited transport and right of way for trains. Secretary Baker notes only American nationality accepted for volunteer units.
News from New York June 26 reports sixteen thousand state troops from New York New Jersey and Massachusetts ordered to entrain tonight for the Mexican border with fifteen thousand additional militia ready to depart in the East. Units include infantry regiments cavalry signal corps engineers artillery hospitals and ambulances. General Wood supervising from the East said all militia would be prepared to entrain quickly toward the border. total force around 128000.
The Chief of Police received a telegram from Captain Myles D. Lavelle reporting Maurice O Brien charged with desertion from Company E of the First Regiment. A wire also notified the police of the action.

Information from a reliable source says Francisco Villa who had been at Santa Rosalia reached a deal with the de facto government. The agreement is used to induce Villa followers to join the Carranza forces.
Alonzo W. Durden of this city enlisted in the Machine Gun Company Sunday amid reports he was down on his luck. Official accounts say he and his children were left with the presiding husband absent in time of the city.
Major Jenkins reports the relief force for C and K Troop Tenth Cavalry has largely finished its mission near San Las ranch Carrigal. Scouring hills and trails shows little likelihood of locating more troops with several men still unaccounted for. The search suggests the riders were led away after the engagement.
