A national display marks Flag Day with cities like Philadelphia and New Orleans joining reciprocal exercises. The events honor the exchange of flags between cities as part of patriotic observances across the United States.

In St Louis on June 14 Hon Martin H Glynn former New York governor lauded President Wilson calling his actions a rare blend of Americanism peace and prosperity He argued neutrality remains American and cited Washington Hamilton Jefferson and Lincoln to defend Wilsons Lusitania policy and urged Republicans to honor past leaders.
Mr. Glynn urged the convention to represent every region and racial group in the United States to send a clear worldwide message. He called on real Americans to stand behind the president and his policies, vowing to keep prosperity and peace for a century more.
A speaker claimed that a four year old pledge by a Democratic administration to free the nation from industrial tyranny has been fulfilled. He assailed the Federal Reserve Act and praised a scholar statesman likened to Moses for guiding American industry toward prosperity and hope. Continued on Page Two.

MreR b Somerville of Tallassee Alabama was elected president of the Southern Alabama Conference of the Epworth League as officers for the ensuing year were named. The day included sunrise prayers led by Mrs Cara belle Wilkes and reports from committees. Officers elected include vice president C J Atkins and treasurer Robert B Somerville with Mrs H A Winter and Miss Helen Gaines in department roles. A keynote address by Rev Paul S Powell followed by a round table on boys and saving them. The convention continues with Dr C E Moore speaking and adjourns tomorrow.
The Pensacola St Andrews and Gulf Steamship Company lost in recorder's court over eight hundred fifty three cases of beer seized May 26 and a prohibition violation. Judge Edington ordered liquor destroyed and fined the company fifty dollars or twenty days. appeals were taken to the city court. The carrier must deliver liquor within three days of receipt, a ruling based on a supreme court view that a common carrier must deliver in a reasonable time.
London reports a brief lull in the Verdun fighting as preparations for new assaults continue. Paris notes a violent bombardment in the Vaux sector while German forces push to neutralize French positions on Hill 321.
Russian forces report capturing the village of Sniatyn 20 miles from Czernowitz as part of their push in Bukowina. They claim 6,000 soldiers 20 officers 6 guns and ten machine guns added to prior gains. In Mobile Mexico consulate official Ricardo Garcia notes ongoing immigrant registration and warns against peon class unrest while US troops stay in Mexico.
Reports from the eastern front say Russian forces push toward Czernowitz the Bukowina capital. Rome reports Austrian assaults along the Posina line in southern Tyrol were repulsed by Italian forces after heavy artillery preparation on Monday night, according to the war office.
Paris report says a heavy artillery engagement occurred near Vaux on the Verdun front with no infantry fighting near Verdun. The French captured a small German post near Venizel east of Soissons and raided Sorgern in the Vosges, taking several German captives.
Russian forces struck along the southern eastern front about 75 miles north of Pinsk and attacked with large infantry masses. The German war office reported the assaults were repulsed with heavy losses.
Dr. C. F. E. Winberg of Silver Hill and president of the Gulf Coast Citrus Growers, visiting Mobile, states Baldwin county citrus prospects continue to improve and a large crop is assured.
