Telegraphic instructions from Washington order customs inspectors at the international bridge to bar Americans from entering Mexico after rioters dragged a flag through the streets. No reason is given for the order and details remain unclear.
The Mexican consul general in New York requests Mexicans living in New York New Jersey and New England to register at the nearest consular office. He says the action follows a long standing Mexican regulation and has no military motive, aimed at enforcing official registration.
Douglas Arizona reports confirm Yaqui Indians raiding ranches and small towns in Sonora's Arispe district. Consul Ives G Lelevier notes casualties are said to be numerous in Agua Prieta with no complete list. Eyewitnesses say Yaquis travel with families, possibly awaiting a favorable time to move into Arizona.
Sixteen applicants from European nations pursued naturalization with four granted. William Jonis and Joseph Juo datis, farmers residing in Foley, Baldwin County, swore allegiance to Russia. Charles Hinrichs, an electrician in Mobile, renounced Russia’s czar and pledged to Wilhelm. Mitchell Fry, a Mobile tailor, fore swore allegiance to Emperor Franz Josef.
Deming New Mexico June 9. Francisco Alvarez and Juan Sanchez two Villa followers captured during the raid on Columbus were hanged at 6:30 this morning. The men were hanged singly.
Charles Medicus was arrested Thursday on an assault charge filed by Phil Cosminsky who says Medicus attacked him Wednesday afternoon after an alleged confrontation. Medicus bonded for appearance in the inferior criminal court.
The Volunteer Life Savings Corps of Mobile adds three new members after an exam at the Y M C A pool. New inductees are Joseph Nidgette, Frank Midgette, and Preston J Schowalter. A further exam will be held late next week with a date to be announced at the next rps meeting Tuesday evening.
Navy aviator Lieutenant R C Saufley was killed when his aircraft crashed on Santa Rosa island in Pensacola. A damaged tail piece is said to have caused loss of control. Saufley held hydroaeroplane altitude and duration records and was renowned in Navy aviation. He is the second flyer to die locally within a month.
Final examinations for the A B and B S degrees at Spring Hill College are set for Friday with commencement on June 16 at the Battle House. Over 100 visitors are expected, including families from New Orleans Macon Atlanta Jackson Yazoo City Fort Morgan and Guatemala City among others.
John R. McLean, owner of the Washington Post and the Cincinnati Enquirer, died at his home in Washington this afternoon after a long illness. He was reported to have passed away at 2 50 p m. local time. The prominent newspaper magnate left a substantial legacy in journalism and business.

He traded a cargo of dye wood for the fishing smack Sir Knight after negotiations with Captain Jean G Murphy in New York. Capmany then loaded lumber cargo and coal for Campeche and planned to sail with two schooners.
Impeachment charges filed in the Alabama Supreme Court allege neglect of duty and incompetency against Russell County Sheriff P. M. Daniel. The court set July 6 for trial after affidavits from 67 citizens, with six counts of incompetency and six counts of neglect of duty cited. The case includes Daniel’s remark about Girard and a charge about revenue licenses.
Mobile mobilizes patriotism for a preparedness parade set for the Fourth. Mayor and General Chairman urge all able residents to participate, with 10 000 flags ordered and divisions lined up. Leaders stress readiness to answer any national call and to show Mobile’s wartime resolve.

Eight hundred fifty three cases of beer and ten car tons of whiskey seized in a May 26 raid on the Pensacola St Andrews and Gulf Steamship Company warehouse face a recorder court decision. The steamship firm argues it is a common carrier with no illegal deliveries. the recorder alleges beer was consigned to fictitious persons and prohibits violations occurred. A sharp legal fight is anticipated as the case nears settlement.
