Chicora Mississippi July 29 Special. Walter C Nesbitt's children reported a large alligator struck a hog weighing 276 pounds near the river. The alligator was later located near the river bridge by Tom Taylor and shot through the head. It measured nine feet two inches long. This is the first to be killed in years in the Chickhawsay river area.
