Italian Artillery Fire Worst of All in Gorizia Clash
A Zeitung Am Mittag dispatch from Austrian Southwest HQ describes the final days of June and early July as the Italian artillery’s fiercest barrage of the war. Despite reinforcement, Italian shells failed to breach Austrian lines as infantry attacks were repelled and a bridge over the Isonzo at Sagrado collapsed.
