Willie Bell, a Negro from Durham County, was executed in the North Carolina state prison by electric chair after confessing to the murder of B. N. Manarchant. The death sentence was carried out on a day other than Friday, with Bell being the condemned inmate.

British Order Prohibits Jute Exports to Certain Ports

An order in council gazetted today bans export of jute yarns, jute piece goods and jute bags and sacks from Great Britain to unspecified destinations.
