Boy pursued by Mobile police after break at mother's home
Elmer Jernigan a 17 year old resident of 960 Scott Street near South Carolina Mobile caused a morning disturbance at his mother's house. Neighbors alerted police and Officers New and Doyle pursued him for more than a mile as spectators watched. Jernigan was finally captured when Officer New overtook him. Police fired shots over his head to deter him but did not injure him.

Sheridan Stricken at Police Station in Sudden Illness
