City Hall an Eye Sore and Wealth in Marion Meeting

Mrs. John H. Clark hosted the Research club on South State Street with most members present. The session featured Burns quotations, a paper on The Seven Years War In Europe by Mrs. W. L. Stump, a Wesleyan Movement lesson, and Goldsmith’s Deserted Village recited by Mrs. Ammann. A discussion on Your Wealth and Power Were Unlimited What Would You Do For Marion? led some speakers to propose tearing down the old city hall for a new building and removing the five and ten cent shows. The meeting closed with a short social period. The club will reconvene in two weeks at Mrs. Ammann’s Hawt Center Street home.
