Wagner Resigns Over Hyde Case Interference
Former U.S. district official Mr Wagner resigns citing unwarranted interference by Attorney General Wickersham in the Hyde case. Hyde, a Pierre land agent, was convicted of misrepresentations in land deals and sentenced to Leavenworth. Wagner refused to endorse a 90 day stay of execution and said he would not join schemes to pressure appointments.

Family Tragedy Ends In Double Suicide
Mrs Hampton Brown left her neglectful husband and fled to her parents with their two year old. He tracked her down and shot her twice then killed himself. Mrs Brown survived and was taken to Mitchell Hospital where doctors work to locate the bullets.
