G Norman Burnson treasurer of Adams County North Dakota announces the 1912 tax due dates. Real property taxes are due by December 24 1912 and delinquent March 1 1913 with five percent penalty plus one percent monthly interest. Personal property taxes due December 1 1912 become delinquent March 1 1913 with five percent penalty and one percent monthly interest. A list of personal property taxes will be placed with the sheriff by October 15 1915 for collection.

Commercial Club Monday Dinner in Lemmon Discusses Institute and Legislation
The Lemmon Commercial club hosted more than thirty members at the West hotel for a sociable dinner. Secretary Doherty read letters about the S. D. Farmers Institute event and Immigration Commissioner Deeta. A five member legislative committee was appointed to push farm and agricultural education measures before the upcoming legislature. Rev. J. W. Wicks arrived to assist Trinity Episcopal mission parish and will conduct services as a possible permanent clergyman for Lemmon, inviting all to attend.

The Lemmon post office handles the first parcels post shipments under the new system. W G Hoisington mails Meadow shoes with a 6 cent stamp and Uncle Sam’s express, while disputes arise over postage. J Ellitt receives the first parcel, and Bamble Bros mail a can of paint as patrons increasingly use the service. Insurance up to 60 cents adds security for senders.

Lemmon bridegroom Leon Ginther marries Nellie Quinn
The Lemmon Herald reports Leon Ginther, alderman and businessman, wed Nellie Quinn of Fargo on December 23 in Fargo after a weeklong honeymoon East. The couple have settled at the Payne residence and begin their home. A playful trap led Ginther briefly into a mock kangaroo court with a small fine, deemed a humorous rite of Lemmon celebrations.

Union Services and Local Lodge Installations Highlight Week
Union gospel temperance service set for Sunday at 7 30 p m at the Baptist church with several congregations joining in. W T U committee notes a joint installation by Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges on Saturday evening Jan 4 with a banquet. Earlier, blue lodge and chapter Masonic officers were installed at Quammen hall last week followed by a Royal Arch banquet. Mrs Vanderhoef, noted writer, dies at a son’s White Hill farm and is buried east. Her children are three Perkins County residents.
