Mystery Man Cartoon Seeks Student Named Choices

The Lantern announces a new weekly feature at Lee College with a mystery man character by Beverly Litton. Students may submit signed name suggestions in the Student Union box. top five will be chosen by a committee for next week and final winner to be selected by student vote.

Elections for sophomore and freshman class officers and student council representatives set for Thursday and Friday on two voting machines in the Main Building. Ballots list candidates for president vice president secretary-treasurer and for boy and girl representatives. polls run 8 a.m. to 1 30 p.m. with student ID required.

Secretarial Changes at Lee College Quietly Implemented

Two staff moves shift offices within Lee College this fall. Dorothy Ammons leaves Dean Rundell to serve Dr. Richard Strahan. Leatha Whitaker replaces Ammons as secretary to Dean Rundell. Both changes involve longtime LC families and local employers Humble Oil and Refining Co.

Next SCAT Testing Scheduled Oct 10 31

Lee College will offer the SCAT School and College Ability Test on October 10 and 31, November 14 and 28, December 12, and January 9 and 16 at 9 am and 6 pm. The one and a half hour aptitude test aids in guiding students into suitable study areas. Testing, in the auditorium, is free and materials are provided. Additional math data processing and computer programming tests will be available.

TEA Approves Chemical Technology Course at Lee College

The Texas Education Agency approved a chemical technology program at Lee College to prepare students for chem tech roles and upgrade workers in related fields. Director C J Collum said the curriculum covers inorganic and organic chemistry, unit operations, and volumetric analysis, with 36 hours in English, math, electronics, history, government, and physical education for the Applied Arts Diploma. Those pursuing only chemical tech courses will earn a completion certificate, with unit operation starting in January and volumetric analysis added in fall 1967.

Dr Ammons Joins Lee College Board of Regents

Dr Ben Ammons a Baytown dentist joins the Lee College Board of Regents replacing John Sylvester who moved from Baytown. He was sworn in at the regular meeting by Attorney Bruce Ramsey and said he is pleased to serve the college and area.

Log Staff Attends Houston Yearbook Seminar

Nine Log staff members and an adviser attended a yearbook seminar in Cullen Auditorium at the University of Houston. The event, co-sponsored by UH and Taylor Publishing Co. offered tips on yearbook design layout and photography.
