Draft Watch Hours Close Across Campus
Linda Ferrell reports on the draft rules for students at LC. Full time status requires 12 class hours per semester. Freshmen boys must file Form 109 with Mrs. Bessie Durham to obtain deferments. Local students must file SS Form with the Texas Local Board. A four year deferment is granted if requirements are met, but reaching age 24 ends the deferment. Graduate students in non reserve programs lose deferment unless in OT/ROTC. Dropping below 12 hours may trigger army draft.
