Rebels Open Home Schedule With Texas City Bout

Lee College Rebels host College of the Mainland in their first home game on November 22 after a road swing that included the Hill County Tournament. Coach John McCormick says the team has strong spirit and plans a victory dance with Continentals of Crosby providing soul music.

Narcotics and LSD Program Shown to LC Students

Lee College and Baytown Police Department sponsored lectures and films for LC students and the public. Sgt. Ronald Cooper led two sessions on November 11 and 12, detailing drugs such as bennies marijuana and heroin. The film Narcotics Pit of Despair warned of addiction risks while LSD-25 described drug history and harm. A photos display accompanied the talks and a Q A session covered needle possession prescriptions and glue sniffing.

Lions Club Sees Preview Of Lee College Drama

Delta Alpha Sigma presented the first act of The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder at a Lions Club dinner on November five. About 40 Lions watched and applauded. cast included Kathy Wendel Rick Johnson Annette Maroney Cindy Anderson Tim Robbins Louann Cakebread and Johnny Bright. Director Thur man E Rowlett praised the performance and announced the show opens December 7 in the Lee College auditorium.

Circle K Fall Festival Draws Local Clubs Saturday

The Circle K Club hosts a November Saturday festival in the LA building parking lot at sundown with 20 clubs from Lee College Lee High School and Sterling High School and 15 San Jacinto Junior College groups. Activities include booths dunking pie throwing and a tricycle race along with a Baytown car show and continuous entertainment. The Wagon Wheel Club Baytown performs square dances followed by a karate exhibition by David and Wyo Nu Moon and a San Jacinto Review by San Jacinto College performers. Booths close 9 pm then a campus dance and crowning of Miss Fall Festival and Ugly Man with gifts for all.

Yearbook photo day announced for November makeups

Jody Laird the Lee Log Editor states yearbook photographs will be taken Monday and Tuesday November 25 and 26 from 8 45 am to 2 pm in Room 301 Walter Rundell Hall. A $1 fee applies. Room 301 sits at the top of the stairs by the registrar’s office and currently houses the Community Information Office and Log Staff.

Forbidden Games film at LC auditorium presents stark wartime tale

The Forbidden Games film for the LC audience screens Wednesday Nov 20 at 7 pm. Rene Clement’s drama follows two children in early World War II who cope by building a graveyard for pets after their family is killed by German bombs. The Venice Festival Grand Prize winner promises 90 minutes of intense drama for discerning adults.

Paul Witt Elected President of BSU

Paul Witt is elected president of the Baptist Student Union at Lee College. An active BSU member since enrollment, he attended the Baptist State Convention in Fort Worth with fellow BSU members. He serves as vice president of Circle K Club and was elected Beau of the Optiettes.
