Lee College Spring Musical Cast Announced for Green Grow the Lilacs

Naomi Norton and Stephenson name the final cast headlined by Lynne Rowe as Curly and Dolores Clark as Laurey. Dolores Clark stars opposite Lynne in a Baytown area production to open late April or early May, with multiple supporting roles listed and rehearsals beginning Friday.

Senior Day Activities At Lee College

Lee College hosted visiting seniors from nearby districts on February 9. The event began with 6:00 pm registration in Liberal Arts, welcomed by faculty, with coffee and doughnuts in the cafeteria. Tours led by Ranglers and Rebs showcased labs, library, and student art while a pep rally and free basketball game against Schreiner Institute followed.

Dr Walter Rundell Jr listed in the Directory of American Scholars for his graduate work at the American University in Washington D C He holds an M A and Ph D in History with a major in Frontier History and is a teacher at Texas Women's University in Denton Texas

NEA Members to Attend San Antonio Convention

Texas State Education Association and NEA convention to be held in San Antonio March 10 to 12. Lee College sends nine delegates and a faculty sponsor led by G. G. Robey, Helen Bowers, and Brenda Shelton.

Registrar Reports Spring Semester Enrollment Totals

Total spring enrollment is 1289 with 609 out of district 676 in district and 4 out of state students. There are 929 part time and 360 full time. Of 928 returning students 691 are men and 237 women. of 361 new students 265 are men and 96 women. Freshmen 848 Sophomores 310 post graduates 96 and 35 special students. Last year at this time total was 1198 with 846 part time and 352 full time.

Navy men present training information on campus

A Dallas Naval Air Station team led by Lieutenant Commander Roy W. Smith Jr. spoke to male students about the NAVCAD aviation cadet program. The program, open to men with 60 semester hours, targets ages 18 to 25 and invites interested youths to take aptitude tests without obligation.

Nortons Plan Guatemala Vacation Faculty Couple at Lee College

Dr. David L. Norton and Mrs. Naomi Norton of Lee College plan a June trip to Guatemala to visit relatives connected with the United States Education Department. Both are noted educators with multiple honors and active roles in professional organizations.

Poetry Society sponsors third semester anthology contest

The American College Poetry Society invites submissions of original student poems for its third semesterly anthology to be published this summer. Each entry must include author name, address, and school. no poem over 48 lines. a student may submit up to five poems.
