Honor Roll Numbers List Long Field of High Averages

Play Tryouts Underway for Green Grow the Lilacs

Drama and Music departments will present Green Grow the Lilacs by Lynn Riggs with auditions open to all enrolled students. Casting not limited to drama and music classes. tentative dates posted on bulletin boards. Lee College Spring Enrollment and Flu Strikes

Registration figures show 1241 students enrolled for the spring term at Lee College with expectations to reach about 1300 after full registration. Last spring had 1198 attendees. summer schedules are ready and summer registrations begin in April. Dean Rundell attended Austin meetings February 8-9. Ill faculty include Ellis Morice Schultze Latimer Jones and Barbara Ellis. One student bought a novelty English readings textbook that was found to be defective upon opening.

February 26 offers a holiday for students while Lee College faculty travel to Austin for a Texas Junior College Teachers Association gathering. Dean Rundell will address revised administration standards and serves on the board developing those standards.

English teachers to attend Cave Dwellers matinee at Alley Theatre

The Lee College English teachers will join a February 21 matinee of William Scroyan's Cave Dwellers at Alley Theatre then dine at Maxim's. They are guests of Harris County Savings & Loan Association for judging student thrift essays.

Bruce Hanson chairs the Lee College Division of Fine Arts and teaches music and Spanish. A Juilliard alumnus with BS MS in Music, he values practice and performance, having Concerts with Thomas Stone at Lee and Sam Houston State. He belongs to American String Teachers Association and Spanish National Honor Society and travels to Mexico Switzerland Italy and Canada. He is a dedicated instructor with a modest friendly demeanor.

Lee College faculty will join Texas Junior College Teachers Association meetings in Austin February 25 to 27 1960 at the Commodore Perry and Stephen F. Austin Hotels. Rev Walter Kerr of Tyler will headline the first general session with sectional talks by university and college educators across biology chemistry English education and psychology departments.
