Grace Smith profiles Guy Holman a Lee College instructor in engineering graphics and photography. Born in Fort Towson Oklahoma he grew up near Huntsville Texas studied at Sam Houston and UH served in WWII in New Guinea and Good Enough Island. He taught at Barber's Hill before joining Lee College in 1953 where his hobbies include cooking and photography and his wife Beth and daughter Randy share his interests.

Johnson Paintings Highlight Guy Johnson in Local Art Show
The JC Center hosts a display of Guy Johnson’s works at 2020 Herman Drive starting November 17. Johnson, an LC instructor, has earned 14 major awards including top prizes in Florida exhibitions in the 1950s and a Foley Award in Dallas 1963. He has had solo shows in Louisville and New York City and teaches at LC after studies in Florida and Kentucky.

Forque leads Lee College inaugural concert band of about 35 members with Charles Forque of Robert E. Lee High School as director. Dan Johnston assists woodwind private lessons. rehearsals at 5:30 pm Mondays and Wednesdays in the high school band room. College credit awarded: one hour for band, three hours for private instruction. no uniforms. Charles Stephenson says strong freshman interest and aims to build a college instrument program. Baytown band leader to headline upcoming concert
Johnston, a Baytown band director with six years at REL and recent SHSTC graduate, served in the Army 1953 to 1955 and taught at Willis and Crosby districts before joining REL. He studied at Eastman School of Music Rochester and arrived in Baytown in 1963. A concert is planned in the Lee College Auditorium.

Pre Registration Begins Thursday For Spring Semester 1963 64
Pre registration opens for all students who meet entrance requirements including the Lee College Entrance Examination Tests. Students may pick up permit or registration slips December 12 in the registrar's office. The last day to submit slips is December 20. Fees and card signing occur January 16 21. Regular registration runs January 27 28.
