The administration restricts card and domino use to the Student Union and bans gambling. Violators face suspension. It also prohibits cutting classes to play and states students dropped for non-attendance due to playing cards or dominoes will not be reinstated.
Lee College hosts a multi day Western Week with a barbecue supper, basketball games between REBs and Rodeo Club, Circle K ettes versus Optiettes, and a cafeteria dance. Play day features fields events and races with prizes, including a Rodeo Queen crowning and beard growing contest with boot prize.
Lee College opens summer session registration with timed permits in the registrar's office. New students need an application medical form residence sheet transcript and test scores on file. Admissions tests for freshmen and some transfers are set for April 25 May 2 9 16 23 and 30 at 9 am and 6 pm.
Mrs. Kathryn Wood of Lee College has been chosen for the NDEA Media Institute at the University of Arizona from June 20 to August 12. She is one of 50 selected nationwide and will attend classes 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, for eight weeks in Tucson.
May 14 is announced as Humble Day with the Humble Club directing final plans. The Humble Country Club will again host the main event, described as the club’s big day each year.
