Regents approve campus upgrades and pay raises
The LC Board of Regents approved major summer improvements and raised pay across staff. Students gain from wage hikes to 2.65 hourly. part time teachers up to 13.00. salaried staff get 9 percent plus a step. Insurance costs rise. homeowners 65 plus receive higher tax exemption. An $8.2 million budget for 1978 79 was adopted and nonresident tuition waivers extended to property owners.

Two political forums plan to feature local candidates in the November races. Democratic speakers include State Representative Joe Allen Congress member Bob Eckhardt and county judge candidate Joe Pentony. Republican speakers include Ed Emmett Nick Gearhart and Jon Lindsay. Forums occur in Molar Hall at 1130 a.m. with brief statements followed by audience Q&A. Public invited.
