Tragic Tractor Mishap Claims Baytown Airport Owner
Colonel Howard M. Humphrey, owner of the Baytown airport and LC flight instructor, was killed on September 22 in a tractor accident. In early 1972 he proposed a career pilot education plan at LC, which received TEA and college approval. The program, launched in fall 1972 with 15 students, now shows about 50 students across three classes each semester.

Nurses organize Red Cross student chapter at LC
Nursing students plan a local American Red Cross section at LC. To join, members must attend an orientation and donate 15 hours of service including blood pressure checks, assisting at fat stock show first aid stations, transporting handicapped children, and CPR related community projects. Henrietta Wright leads by law drafting. Wright, Segars and Pinto conceived the group after a St Louis conference last spring.

Jazz ensemble and singers set concert in Randell Hall
The LC jazz ensemble will perform with the New Leisure Singers in Randell Hall on Oct. 19 at 7 30 p m. The free concert accepts donations for a European tour in May. A December show features Tony Campisi. A March jazz festival plans 20 to 40 Texas bands with Bill Walt Ross. New officers are Robert Van Natta president and others. Committees list names and roles.

A Republican forum in Moser Hall featured Ed Emmett state representative candidate Nick Gearhart congressional candidate and Jon Lindsay county judge as speakers.
