Regents pick Whiteley interim leader at Lee College
The Board of Regents chose J B Whiteley to lead Lee College as interim president after Vivian Blevins resigns Oct 21 to become chancellor at Rancho Santiago. Whiteley may join by Nov 1 and will be paid about Blevins level with a college vehicle. the board hired ACCT to conduct the search for a permanent president with a base fee of 15800.

Dia de la Raza Festival at Bicentennial Park
The Lee College Awareness Club hosts a Dia de la Raza festival featuring 15 community groups selling Latin American foods and crafts. Local soccer teams will provide an exhibition, and Mariachi Continental de Houston with Grupo Falaz will perform. The event runs 1 to 5 p.m. with free admission.

Lee College Theater Arts presents Arthur Miller drama All My Sons as part of Films and World War II symposium. Cast includes Chris Aspdal Joe Keller, Lissette V. WWII symposium advances with films and lectures
The World War II Symposium continues through Saturday as part of a film series at Edythe Old Studio. Lee College instructor Dale Adams notes the 50th anniversary of U S entry into WWII and the event combines films with lectures and panel discussions to educate on the home front. The lineup includes showings of Tora Tora Tora Tender Comrade and Since You Went Away with a Friday keynote by Dr. Robert Wooster on Victory in Defeat Pearl Harbor. Dr Garth Jowett also speaks Friday evening on the era.
