Bill Watrous leads the third annual Lee College Jazz Festival with the Manhattan Wildlife Refuge as top attractions. Bands compete for ratings 1 and 2 trophies while All Star bands are chosen in eight classifications. Clinics cover rhythm, reeds, trumpet, trombone, and jazz playing with free participation for band members.

SG plans March events and convention trip
The Student Government schedules a March 16 dance at Knights of Columbus Hall and a Smokey and the Bandit movie showings on March 28 at 3 and 8 p.m. in WRI with free admission for students or $1. A toga party is set for March 24 at an undecided location. LC will lead the region at the April 8–10 Galveston SG convention. An April 19 banquet at Robert E Lee and Sterling high schools features Dee Dee Lewis of the Dallas Cowboys. Weekly SG meetings are Mondays at 6:30 p.m.

Transfer Meeting Eases College Transfer Pains
The Lee College Counseling Center and Financial Aid department sponsor a transfer meeting in Bonner Hall 227 at 11 a.m. March 7. Students will learn about GPA requirements, admission deadlines, financial aid, housing, transfer credits, tuition and fees, room and board, books, and enrollment figures. Addresses and phone numbers of other colleges’ admissions housing and financial aid offices will be provided. A question and answer session will follow.
