LC to administer student interest survey this April
Dean Ed Monk explains the survey will assess what LC has done well and what could improve for students. It will mix multiple choice and written responses, with a committee of Moak Moskowitz and SG members handling the questionnaire. Some copies may be left in high traffic campus areas to capture engaged student input.

Math contest champs to be given LC scholarships
The sixth annual mathematics contest for area high schools and junior high schools will be held on LC campus Saturday March 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Senior high students may enter at no charge. LC scholarships and a computer science data processing prize will go to winners, with second place contending if the winner does not enroll.
March 11 Jazz Fest showcases Don Ellis and local groups
Famed trumpeter Don Ellis will headline the Lee College Second Annual Jazz Festival on March 11 at Rundell Auditorium. Tarleton State University Weatherford College and 13 high schools plus two junior highs perform for judges David Caffey Tony Campise and Bob Morgan. Ellis and the LC ensemble perform a varied program while LC’s Dave Corder notes festival planning limits. Bands are rated one to five with I or II earning trophies. All-Star bands from junior to university level will be chosen. Admission for Bay towns students and other bands is $1 for festival competition and $3 for adults. LC students faculty and families admitted free with reservations through Corder.

Baytown Orchestra to Feature Houston Trumpet Star March 14
Prominent Houston trumpeter James Austin and Bay area tenor Larry Koonce lead the Baytown Community Orchestra in a March 14 concert at 7 30 p m in Rundell auditorium. The program includes Berlioz Roman Carnival Overture Tull concerto for trumpet and orchestra and Vaughan Williams Five Mystical Songs. The event is free with a reception hosted by the San Jacinto Music Teachers Association after.

Intramurals Open With Close Lee College Basketball Scores
Intramurals at Lee College began with high scoring games on Tuesday February 7 as Brad Sinclair’s team beat Tracy Brown’s squad 72 to 71 on a last second one and one. Sinclair led with 29 points while John Kenney added 19 and Schrader 16. Brown’s side totaled 30 points with Mills 23 and Lewis 18.
