Regents act on three staff moves
The Board of Regents approved retirements for two LC staffers and a business office promotion at the Feb 25 meeting. Chemistry teacher Frank Maystorovitch retires after 31 years, counselor Wanda Ellis with three years in the LC Counseling Center also retires, both effective after this semester. Betty Troutman, a secretarial employee, is promoted to full time accountant in the business office under a one year probationary contract starting March 14 with a $31,901 annual salary.

Gas line leak fixed near Social Science Building
A long running gas leak under the Social Science Building was investigated after campus staff detected smells near the old bookstore. Jean Sanders notified maintenance, M. S. Young Co surveyed, found and plugged the line at a cost of 445 dollars. The cafeteria has not been in use for over a year.

Leaks and speakers stream through campus as students eye contest
Maintenance worker Don Singleton notes a long standing leak with no pinpointed source. How Texas Primaries Work This Tuesday
