College weighs 711 W Texas expansion and new library plans

Regents investigate bond sale to finance campus expansion

Regents consider a bond issue totaling 4.5 to 7 million dollars to fund Lee College expansion. Dr. Vivian Blevins cites needs including Rundell Hall science lab renovations and space for remedial classes. A 200 seat library auditorium is proposed, while a new gym is deferred.

Lee College faces new law restricting early college credit courses

Counselor Wanda Ellis to retire from LC after semester

Wanda Ellis, a Lee College counselor since 1984 and eight year Baytown School Board veteran, will retire after this semester. She plans to work part time in April and may extend through May or June while staying connected to LC. Ellis praised the new counseling director position and said she may seek a college board seat while enjoying travel plans to Egypt and Greece after retirement.
