Study skills class replaces Psych 1100 at Lee College
Beginning Fall 1990 all incoming freshmen with under 20 hours must take a one hour study skills course replacing Psychology 1100 as the freshman orientation course. The course, aimed to reduce paperwork and attendance issues, will cover library use, financial aid and degree planning. Some faculty oppose the plan, arguing it may unnecessaryly burden students and that no waivers or testing exist to gauge need.

Enrollment in Lee College courses at the Texas Department of Corrections Huntsville facility fell 29.8 percent from Spring 1989 to Spring 1990 after mandatory MAPPS testing.
