Disappointing SAC forum sparks student participation concerns
The SAC forum drew a disappointing crowd and limited pool hours due to few lifeguards, with about 30 students holding lifeguard certificates. Students may swim when classes aren’t in session, and the $25 fee applies to non students. Ellen George urged more blood drive volunteers to meet 1985 quota for an extra Thanksgiving break. Eugene Laplante, SAC nominee, urged broad student involvement in the presidential advisory committee and suggested an anonymous suggestion box in Moser Hall. Wells urged consulting the student handbook to solve problems.

Misperceived harassment studied by Kansas State professor
Kansas State University psychologist Dr. Frank Saal studied college students to see if men misinterpret women's friendly gestures as flirting. He recorded that many men see sexual terms in neutral interactions, while women view the same situations as wholly nonsexual. He plans to test workplace attitudes to determine if misperceptions persist beyond academia and how male socialization influences harassment.
