One act plays set for March at Lee College
The Lee College Theater Arts Department rehearses three one act plays for March, each directed by LC students. A Personal Thing by Paul Winfield directed by Ron Knapp features Tracy Silverberg and Michelle LeVoux among others in a black comedy about a man attempting suicide interrupted by his wife’s infidelity. Painting Distant Men by Richard Greene directed by Errol Anthony Wilks explores mid life crisis and flawed marriages as a man leaves his wife for an old friend. DRAMA on page 3.

ACCT to meet with advisors for Lee College president search
The advisory committee chosen to shape the Lee College president profile will meet Thursday in Moody Center from 2 to 5 pm. ACCT consultants will screen applications and propose 10 to 15 semifinalists. The board will select five finalists after two review stages, with ACCT conducting background checks and coordinating interviews. Interim president search proceeds as Robert Cloud’s resignation takes effect March 15.

Lucille Koehl, a faculty member and interpreter expert, testified in a San Antonio case where two deaf teens are charged in the murder of a 20 year old deaf woman. She said police used an inadequately qualified interpreter, risking a flawed Miranda warning and a confession. The trial drew attention amid the space shuttle disaster coverage.
