Campus security disagrees on LC location impact on crime
Lee College campus security and Baytown Police differ on whether LC location affects campus crime. Police Chief Wayne Henscey says LC crime is not worse than the city and that security and lighting help keep it safe. LC security officer Jean Sanders cites nearby neighborhood issues and notes thefts, but says the campus overall is quiet. Incidents include a stolen 1980 Chevrolet C-10 truck, stolen Apple II disks, 55 missing counseling center shirts, a stolen duffle bag, a car window break and steering tamper, and a stolen radio from a sewing class.
