A local shop advertises new fabric arrivals with Latin stripe fabrics and seersuckers priced at 5 cents and 8 to 15 cents. Batistes and lawns are described as fine values in fast colors and striped patterns, with rapid sales expected.

St Paul May 7 At a reg ular meeting of the board of managers of the State prison today at Stillwater unanimous action was taken in favor of paroling Cole and James Younger now serving life sentences. The Younger brothers have been in Stillwater since 1876 for the Northfield Minnesota bank robbery and the murder during that raid. The James gang included Jesse and Frank James who escaped to Missouri. Bob Younger died in prison.
Booker Washington recalls a story of a colored man in Alabama who, amid a scorching July day in a cotton field, pausing to look at the sky, believes he is called to preach. The motif extends to other young men not labeled as darkies who feel a similar summons to seek work.
An 87 year old Dr I R E Couturier weds a younger Mrs Shaw in Brooklyn with Charleston ties.
