Loan Lynching in Norfolk Ends in Hanging Trial
In Norfolk Virginia a 15 year old, Neal Stanback, was accused of assaulting a 70 year old white woman near the Pfeifer home. He was seized by a white mob, jailed, and spared lynching after a quick trial. Stanback was indicted, convicted, and sentenced to hang on March 12.
