Four men robbed the First National Bank in Cambridge early today taking about 10000 dollars. Citizens seized the suspects and led them to the county jail where they are held for examination. No money found yet. snow hindered the escape via a handcar from Galva.
An advertisement for B B B Blood Balm promises free 10 000 treatments to women nationwide. It claims rapid cures for ulcers scrofula painful swellings rheumatism catarrh pimples eruptions itching blood humor disorders and even cancer with prepaid mailed medicine from Blood Ball Co Atlanta Ga and free medical advice.
An old advertisement promotes Scott's Emulsion as a cod liver oil based blood tonic for pale young women. It claims to restore strength flesh and color, offers free samples, and lists Scott & Bowne at 409 Broadway New York as the chemists.
Fayetteville February 3 Edward Utley awaiting Supreme Court appeal and serving 20 year sentence escaped last night. Jailer Pate found a hole in the second floor stairway and Utley asleep on a bed made from boards. Guards searched other prisoners. Utley left with two padlocks noted. Officials offer rewards totaling 600 dollars as Utley, a well connected man, is believed to have fled via an early morning train.
Gov Heyward yesterday offered a reward of 100 dollars for the apprehension and conviction of William King the Florence county man who days ago killed the Rogers father and son in the county. Meanwhile in Anderson a store safe was blown open at the Pendleton Manufacturing company using nitroglycerine securing about 100 dollars in money and stamps. A second robbery followed at Iva on the O and W railway with about 35 dollars and a gold watch stolen.

In New York on February 3, waiter R Bidlich shot Bernhard Beinecke's housekeeper Garlin at her door, then shot himself after two more fatal shots. He later died in hospital as Garlin lay gravely wounded. A photo of the couple was found pinned to his clothing. Beinecke family members were stunned by the tragedy.
Washington February 2 Special President Roosevelt informs Representatives Findley and Johnson he will veto the bill authorizing extra court terms in the Western district of South Carolina. The veto follows Attorney General Knox and Judges Simonton and Brawley who say the plan would require new courthouses and officers and is not justifiable at present.
Banks Miller shot his wife after a dispute and then killed himself in Raleigh Nevada. He had earlier separated from her and they had two children with relatives. After a reconciliation talk he asked for a kiss and then fired, killing his wife with a shot to the breast before turning the pistol on himself. Two eyewitnesses reported the events.
