New Kemmerer Abstract Office Planned by Reynolds and Rosenberg

Attorney M. B. Reynolds and Roy Rosenberg plan to open an abstract office in Kemmerer after purchasing Kemmerer Abstract backs. The county clerk’s office has been unable to fill about 100 abstract orders, creating an opening for private service. The new firm will operate behind Reynolds and Reynolds law offices and start taking orders within a week.

Altitude Too High For Cabaret Girls Council Says

The city council voted to shut the Union Cabaret as dancers faced dangerous altitudes. The police chief was told to inform the performers they must relocate to a climate with lower altitude where they can dance without extreme exertion and bank sights.

Lincoln county mining camp delegates to the United Mine Workers of America convention in Cleveland Ohio returned home last week. Attendees reported a pleasant trip and adjournment at Buffalo N Y included a wage scale conference with coal operators. Judge Arnold to Attend Friday Sessions in Kemmerer

Judge Arnold telephoned Kemmerer attorneys to say he will be here Friday to handle matters ready for disposition. Jury selection for the November term likely starts November 8 and jurors report about two weeks later, with heavier general attendance anticipated at the last term.

Turley Pleads Guilty Fined $100 and Costs

Walter Turley, proprietor of a local soft drink emporium, pleaded guilty to disposing of intoxicating liquor on a Saturday in Police Judge Glasgow's court. He was fined $100 and costs after police observed many visitors at his establishment last Friday.

Gulf Coast Company Plans Shallow Well This Week

President Ellwood of the Gulf Coast Oil and Development company is in Kemmerer to oversee work as the firm expects a shallow well to be brought in within two to three days. A deep well drilling halt occurred yesterday due to machinery breakage but repairs are underway and expected to resume by week’s end.

Samuel R K Maxwell secretary of the Wyomit company visiting Kemmerer reports optimistic Carter field prospects. The well reaches 1800 feet with 200 feet to sands, 84-foot derrick and new 40 HP engine en route. Company holds 20 000 acres in Uinta and Lincoln counties and plans rapid drilling despite cold weather.

W. M. McGee, a Croesus Oil and Development principal stockholder based in Salt Lake City, says the company will begin development on holdings in Dry Piney field soon. A rig has been purchased and is en route, and an office and supply station will be opened in the city.

Fined for Possessing Two Jugs Whiskey in Kemmerer
