The Frontier schools held closing exercises Wednesday afternoon attended by patrons and friends. Rooms were decorated with bunting and greens creating a holiday mood as children from various grades performed songs drills and a short drama. Ice cream and cake were served as attendees departed pleased.
Phil Twitchell visits town to work on the census for School District No. 12 spanning from Midway to the railroad and including nearby ranches. The district is described as one of the largest in the country.
The editor reports a sunny ride Wednesday with County Commissioner W A Hocker and Red Rich over the Kemmerer Big Piney road. The route up the canyon and toward Graham’s meets the Opal Big Piney road and is in excellent condition due to Road Supervisor Jack Matthews. The old Matthews to Oakley and Diamondville route stays usable for those avoiding the canyon, and travel times drop by about 16 miles. The project, funded at low cost, gains strong county credit and will become one of the county’s best roads once regularly used.
