Industrial move sparks Kemmerer inquiry by Oregon Short Line

D. M. Newton of Ogden, traveling passenger agent for the Oregon Short Line, visited Kemmerer last week to explore local industries with potential for growth. The railroad plans regular industrial surveys monthly to match private capital with promising ventures, including brick and tiling manufacturing if suitable materials are available.

Good Roads Meeting at Logan Utah

The Inter Mountain Good Roads convention will run June 12 to 14 in Logan Utah. Government to send a model good roads exhibit from Washington and an automobile parade from Pocatello to Logan.

Glencoe Schools Close a Successful Year

The Glencoe schools end a successful year with teachers Adolah and Miller reappointed for next term. They will go to Greely Colorado for summer study as Miller holds AB degree and Mrs Miller a BP degree. Enrollment stands at 140 pupils and Miller weighs a potential county superintendent bid.

Folger Re elected Mayor In Kemmerer Adopts Fair Administration

Folger, with prior service as mayor, was installed as mayor without opposition at a city council meeting on Monday. Council member C. H. Hibbs and W. C. Cunnington, both re elected, were also installed. Folger serves as Chief Dispatcher for the Oregon Short Line in Kemmerer and as land area clerk for Lincoln County Commissioners.

Amos Smith and Smalley Motor Westward from Kemmerer

Amos W Smith of Big Piney, wintering in Salt Lake, and chauffeur Bert Smalley drove a 66 horse power monster car from Kemmerer to Big Piney in five hours forty minutes. Mrs Smalley and Mrs Dot Lace accompanied them. Smith intends to guard hay meadows and repair ditches for a big summer season.
