A Camera reporter learned the firm already has two rigs on the road and will drill at the first opportunity in the spring. Stumpf predicts five rigs by June and several flowing wells by September 1918.
Editor Kingsland of the Mining and Oil Record and associate Mr. Bunker promote Lincoln county oil fields. A Camera representative notes Western News Service advertising through their paper for the fields. Kingsland has worked for Salt Lake Telegram and Red Cross era papers while Bunker runs the Mining and Oil Record and has broad newspaper experience.
Polaris Petroleum head J Buss announced that Clare Hamilton, famed Wyoming promoter, has leased part of the Dry Piney field near Big Piney. Hamilton must place a drilling rig by April 1 and begin drilling by June 1. Eight leases, including held by Costello, Linsola-Wyoming Petroleum, and Opie & Co., now cover spring drilling in the Big Piney fields.
Mrs Charles Lackey wife of the noted local oil man underwent surgery at St Marks Hospital East Lake City in the latter part of last week. Appendicitis was the ailment.

Cronin, of El Dorado Oil & Refining with HQ in Tennessee, now operates from K R Rowe’s building after J B Lloyd vacated. Ridgley’s president Hilliard Ridgley oversees holdings in Dry Piney and Fossil districts. Companies push drilling with rigs en route to rapid activity, including shallow wells in Fossil field.
A. P. F. McCarty of Casper, longtime sheep man now active in oil near Casper, toured Kemmerer last week and announced leasing Fossil field holdings from Orland Curtis and others with plans to develop in spring. He spoke at the off men’s meeting about leasing bills, government prospects, and the need for a federal leasing law, noting land sells high for small plots and the local oil field is drawing attention as Caspar residents push for oil expansion through congress.
L. dy Lyons of Los Angeles, a wealthy Imperial Valley rancher, will visit Kemmerer this week to investigate oil claims in Lincoln County. Local no California residents are being discussed by Lyons and Los Angeles interests.
O. D. Van Buskirk of Pocatello Idaho has bought rigs for development work in the Dry Piney country early next spring. His holdings lie within 17 feet of the Cretaceous well. He is an experienced oil man.
Jonges shows strong enthusiasm for Lincoln county prospects as his father drilled the second well ever in the famous Pennsylvania field. The family leans on historic local oil development to bolster anticipated gains and regional growth.
