Young America Ready For War In Kemmerer Examinations
A large group of young men gathered in Kemmerer for medical examinations as part of the draft process. About 269 registrants faced eye, ear, throat, teeth and physical checks, with many to be assigned to limited service or hospitals. no one rejected for service. Examinations also occurred in Jackson, Afton, Big Piney, and Cumberland as Dr. Arbogast and others extended the effort across Star Valley and Green River valley.

Henry Hahn is Wanted for Murder After Christmas Night
Henry Hahn, long considered a troublemaker, is now sought on a murder charge in Idaho. Police say Hahn, with two others, was last seen with Dan O’Connell on Christmas night, after which Hahn disappeared. Sheriff McMing was alerted by Mackay Idaho authorities. Terrell Man Escapes Train to Penitentiary Transfer
Undersheriff Ben Bell faced an odd scene on a move to Rawlings when prisoner Terrell slipped into a car toilet during a railway transfer near Wamsutter. He vanished from view as the car moved, later found to have risked a fall from the train rather than return to custody. Terrell was recaptured by Marshal Harrity and pleaded guilty in district court, sentenced to four to eight years in the state penitentiary.
